Ristorante Cracco
Milano , Italy / 2018
It’s the light of encounters, of conversations, of silent glances.
Carlo Cracco’s New Restaurant in Milano, Italy Carlo Cracco has got a new restaurant located in Galleria Vittorio Emanuele. It pays homage to Milano, a crossroads of culture between food and art. It is classic and modern at the same time. A grey and blue “Boiserie” leads to three rooms and two private rooms on the first floor. These spaces have been carefully arranged so as to express their full, hidden value. The “Fumoir” inside the restaurant sports showy walls that have been covered with a moss green metal mesh. The wine cellar is expertly stocked and particularly pleasing to the eye. It is furnished with display cases of fir wood surrounded by lacquered red walls. The “Bistrot” on the ground floor is a meeting place, strongly steeped in history. To illuminate the various spaces, we resorted to “photo-graphy”, that is to say the utilisation of light to tell a story. It is modern - ultra-modern - lighting in very classical clothing. There’s light on the tables, in the entranceways an along the corridors. The lights themselves are subtle, hidden, remote, except for the battery-powered table lights and the silk lampshades on the walls. Everything has been conceived with a sense of equilibrium, balancing direct and diffused light.
