Private residence Vertigo in Brugnello
Brugnello, Piacenza, Italy / 2025
Heading toward the village of Brugnello, the light intertwines with the vertiginous contours of the Trebbia Valley, guiding the gaze through rock, greenery, and water. In the heart of the village, the restored house retains its sandstone shell, while inside, a new, essential and material space reinterprets tradition with exposed concrete and reclaimed wood. The warmth of the wood balances the sobriety of the concrete, while a large circular window captures the landscape. In the bathrooms, the marble surfaces evoke rock cavities illuminated by soft reflections. A project in which light and materials interact: the exterior preserves the memory of the village, the interior creates a contemporary and contemplative environment, where the lighting enhances the depth of the surfaces and the strength of the place.
