Le Calandre
Rubano (PD), Italy
"At Le Calandre, I wanted light on the plate. Only on the plate. I wanted to celebrate Massimiliano’s art by underlining the visual side of his work. Because dining at Le Calandre is a multi-sensory experience, so visual too. The people sitting at the tables are illuminated by reflection, from the bottom upwards, and the overall situation is deep and intimate. This is why I used Ovo and Ovonelpiatto on the tables. Massimiliano told me that the egg is a fundamental ingredient of haute cuisine, and so we tried to give meaning to his intuition." Davide Groppi Ovo and Ovonelpiatto were created after talking to Massimiliano, aware that intuition often means truth. In the entrance and reception area, we used the female light of Moon and the narrating light of Film. Moon generates the soft, welcoming light of the lampshade. The prelude to the emotions to be experienced in the dining room. Film accompanies us on Massimiliano and Raffaele’s journey, telling of their incredible story.
