Collegio Alberoni Gallery
Piacenza, Italy / 2022
Natural light was eliminated, preferring a preciously intimate experience.
Reopened to the public with a new, extended collection, the Apartment of Alberoni Cardinal, an authentic artistic treasure trove located in the Collegio Alberoni in Piacenza, Italy, houses and displays the artistic and historical gems of the collection of Giulio Alberoni (1664 - 1752).
Our applied design team created the lighting, or rather the photo-graphics (understood as the writing of light), for the whole collection, and particularly for “Ecce Homo” by Antonello da Messina (1430 - 1479 circa) and the diptych “Madonna at the Fountain” and “Glass with flowers within a niche” by Jan Provost (1462 - 1529).
The works by Antonello da Messina and Jan Provost are illuminated using the squaring technique on separate backgrounds.
The reading of the paintings is objective, an example of absolute light, that which cancels the perception of the light source.
